Aquamarine Dragon Fly - the little dragon flies love their treasure, just like their big cousins - here's the first in a new series of Gemstone Dragon flies! Double matted to 5x7, hand signed and numbered. 2019, edition of 125.

Blue Topaz Dragon is acrylic onnaturally molted domestic pet macaw feather. It loves blue topaz so much that even the distressed finish wood frame is the color of blue topaz. And of course the gem it carries is a blue topaz. 

This piece can't be shipped internationally due to what it's painted on, but rest assured, CoCo the macaw donated it willingly. The frame measures 5x7 inches on the inside edge. Triple matted.

Gold Flight The dragon in this piece wants to be big, but he fits into the confines of a small piece of mahogany obsidian. He's got a treasure in the form of a yellow sapphire, because all dragons must have a treasure. Really, he's much bigger than he seems, you're just viewing him from a safe distance. Acrylic painting, framed in a gold finish wooden frame that measures 5x7 inches on the inside edge.

Iolite Dragon Fly This little fluttering dragon-fly is inspired by the shade of blue of the gem he carries. It's a celebration of iolite blue on blue stone - probably either sodalite or dumotierite, I'm not sure which. He's happily showing off his gem from the safety of his triple matted frame, which is wood with a distressed silver black finish. There's a very slight indentation on the lower right edge of the frame, which measures 5x7 inches on the inside edge.

King of the Hill: King of the Hill is just that, presiding over a large pile of treasure. Acrylic on turkey feather with tourmaline, amethyst, garnet, peridot, carnelian and citrine accents. No need for over analysis, it's a dragon being a dragon, and darn proud of it, too. the wooden frame measure 8x10 inches on the inside edge.

Protectors of Wisdom: this dragon and tiger duo has a tough job in today's world, but they're up to the task. Acrylic on turkey wing feather, with an amethyst gem standing in for the pearl of wisdom and tanzanite and iolite gems on the tiger's neck chain. Triple matted and presented in a silvered frame. I hammered on the aged brass corner accents to complete the piece with my little hammer, tap tap tapping away like a cobbler and driving everyone nuts. The brown in the brass finish matches the brown in the feather, bringing the piece together. The frame measures 8x10 inches on the inside edge.

The Garnet Collector is inspired by the dragon-shaped piece of rhodonite it's painted on. Proudly showing off its garnet necklace, it prefers garnet above all other treasures. Triple matted and in an antiqued gold tone wooden frame that measures 5x7 inches on the inner edge.
