Gift Exchange

A mermaid and a friendly octopus exchange gems. An octopus can only carry so many items at a time and so it likes to trade up. This piece is acrylic on blue tigereye. The accents on the finished piece include sapphire, peridot, amethyst and tanzanite. I chose the frame because part of the pattern kind of reminded me a little of octopi, and because I thought the darker colors set off the piece well. It measures 5x7 inches on the inside edge.
