Dark Crystal Dragon

Dark Crystal Dragon is acrylic on a bronze turkey feather, which is appropriate for the season. A bronze and purple dragon holds a faceted smoky quartz. I painted the corners for the frame in the same tones as the dragon to bring the piece together. That I felt like painting with these colors is the main explanation for this piece, and sometimes that's all it takes. And I was thinking of the sort of dragon that would choose smoky quartz over more brightly colored gems. It measures 5"x7" on the inside dimension of the frame.
